I can't believe it's September already! What a wonderful week we've had here, really hot and sunny. I've had another busy week, have managed to have one sale this week, which is excellent news, and this weekend have managed to catch up with housework and also trying to cope with the ever increasing supply of tomatoes, courgettes and cucumbers that keep appearing in the kitchen! I have also managed to make a bit more chutney, just to add to the supply, see my 'Chutney' section. The freezer is filling up nicely now with various things and lots of tomato sauces and various soups to keep us going over winter, but it's also nice to have some nice dinners with fresh veg cooked straight from the garden!
I've also managed to get the last two of my girlies' rugs washed and dried and they are now packed away ready to be used in the winter. They have quite a 'wardrobe' so it is always quite a job trying to get them washed, dried and ready for the next winter's use.
Anna enjoying the sunshine - and protected from the flies!
And Dill, she loves having her mask on in the summer as she just hates the flies on her face!
I noticed that my orchid has come out in flower again, a present from Mr TK for Valentine's Day! I had kept it in the conservatory and it's come back into life again.
The chickens are also enjoying the September sunshine:
Mr TK has been busy this weekend, trimming back our leylandii trees which were getting a bit out of hand!
So, a quick tour of the garden now, starting with the polytunnel:
We've had a brilliant crop of melons this year and they are still going strong!
And yes, still loads of cucumbers!
Outside:
This is the other old little greenhouse, we've planted some chillies and peppers in there, as well as some melon pears; we've never grown these before, and as we've still no fruit on them, don't think we will now anyway!
Can't believe how many butternut squash we have from the four plants that we have grown, not quite ready to pick yet, but there must be at least 10 on the plants!
Pumpkins galore!
Not forgetting Sooty's two little kittens! Awww!
Even more tomatoes!
Bon Semaine!
