August in the Garden

I managed to have a quiet day today, so was able to spend a bit of time in the kitchen, but also managed to have a good look around the garden, doing a bit of weeding here and there and collecting a bit more of produce that's ready.  It's been a lovely day here, really warm and sunny, just hope that the rest of August stays dry and sunny.  So here's what we have in the garden at the moment:

Butternut squashes are coming on amazingly well, we've quite a few at this size

The pumpkins are looking good

I've grown two different sorts this year

I also decided to try a different type of pepper as well

Even the chillies are doing well

Aubergines are a bit 'long', but hopefully they will fill out a bit

Cucumbers are still growing like mad!

Sweetcorn isn't wonderful, but the celery seems to be a bit better now

This is the row of grape vines
And we have grapes!

And of course, the polytunnel with the tomatoes!

Our breakfast this morning was melon with ginger on it, picked from the polytunnel, the first one which was really ripe and was excellent!

A Bientot!
