It's Mother's Day here in France today and it's a bit of a grey day, although the sun is trying to shine but at least it's dry! I was given a red rose yesterday whilst out shopping in a supermarket, which a lot of supermarkets and small shops tend to give out to Mothers on Mothers Day! I was also amazed that my son remembered and texted me this morning!
I'm quite impressed with how things are growing out in the garden now and already we've got lots of lovely flowers and veg looking really good.
Last year's strawberry bed is doing well
Cauliflowers
Selection of lettuce
You can just see the asparagus at the end
Haricots verts is up now, although I think a bit of weeding is now needed!
These are various squashes
Broad beans
Courgettes
Strawberries in the fruit cage
Clematis
Lupins that I planted from seed last year and are now out in flower
This was some cuttings that I took last year
The back flower garden
The front of the house - roses round the door!
The tomatoes in the greenhouse are looking quite good, can't wait to start picking again.
So to celebrate Mothers Day today, we are having oysters to start followed by steak and chips for Mr TK and fresh tuna for me!
