Christmas is coming.....

Bright sunny but frosty mornings.

Just over a week ago, we had a hay delivery and on leaving, the trailer caught and brought down our telephone cable which was still hanging low over the lane even after the last time that it happened and the EDF technician assured us that it would be sorted! So a week later and many phone calls later (on the mobile) it was reconnected. So fingers crossed that it will stay put this time.

December has been very cold here, with rain, rain, rain and more rain! Although in the last week it's been dry, quite sunny with very frosty mornings and bright sunny days! This morning, however, it's snowing here in Central Brittany which is now making us feel very Christmasy. This week, we've put the decorations up and bought a small tree, so with the snow today, we are starting to get into the Christmas spirit. We've even booked our Christmas Day lunch out at a lovely restaurant, so something lovely to look forward to!

15 December 2009

This morning, we woke up to everything white....not snow, but very very frosty and it was -3 degrees outside, very cold!
Having sorted out the girls and mucked out, water was frozen outside, so we had to get water from inside to soak the haynets, so it was thick rugs today for the girls.

So having collected the wood ready to light the wood burner later, we had a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs before facing the day.  Hope it defrosts a bit as we really need to go out later and replace our gas bottle and get some more shavings.  Apparently, they forecast snow for tomorrow night and also on Thursday.
